Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager – Cloud to lead our cloud engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud-based solutions while leading a team of engineers. The candidate should possess strong technical expertise in cloud platforms, people management, project delivery, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cloud engineers and architects.
Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud infrastructure.
Drive cloud migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps, Security, and Engineering.
Establish cloud architecture standards, best practices, and governance policies.
Monitor cloud performance, availability, and cost optimization strategies.
Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational requirements.
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery milestones.
Conduct code reviews, technical evaluations, and performance assessments.
Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in leadership or management roles.
Strong experience with cloud platforms such as:
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Microsoft (Azure)
Google (GCP)
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation.
Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
Knowledge of networking, security, monitoring, and cloud cost management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, etc.).
Experience with microservices and distributed systems architecture.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience managing globally distributed engineering teams.
