We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deep Learning Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of an AI application that predicts height from images of children under age 5. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing state-of-the-art deep learning and computer vision algorithms to solve this challenging problem. Your work will play a crucial role in improving the accuracy and reliability of our height prediction models.
As a Deep Learning Research Scientist, you will be responsible for:
- Conduct in-depth research and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in deep learning, computer vision, and related fields.
- Design and develop novel deep learning architectures and algorithms specifically tailored for height prediction from images of children.
- Collect, pre-process, and curate large datasets of images and associated height measurements for training and evaluation.
- Train and fine-tune deep learning models using cutting-edge techniques such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), and attention mechanisms.
- Optimize and enhance model performance through techniques such as data augmentation, transfer learning, and regularization.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to define project goals, requirements, and milestones.
- Conduct rigorous experimentation and analysis to evaluate model performance, identify limitations, and propose iterative improvements.
- Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals, and contribute to the scientific community through open-source projects and collaborations.
- Stay informed about ethical considerations and potential biases in AI applications, ensuring responsible and fair deployment of the developed models.
- Mentor junior researchers and provide technical guidance and support as needed.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on machine learning, deep learning, or computer vision.
· Strong background in deep learning theory and practical experience in developing deep learning models.
· Extensive knowledge of computer vision techniques and algorithms, including image classification, object detection, and feature extraction.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and familiarity with deep learning libraries/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
· Proven track record of conducting cutting-edge research in the field of deep learning, as evidenced by publications in top-tier conferences/journals.
· Experience with large-scale data collection, pre-processing, and management.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Prior experience in height prediction or related fields (e.g., human pose estimation, anthropometry) is a plus.
