Job Title: Structural Engineer (Composite Materials)
Location: Jakkur, Bengaluru
Department: Research & Development
Reports To: CTO
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Structural Engineer with expertise in the analysis, design, and testing of composite materials. This role involves conducting structural simulations, material characterization, and composite layup design to optimize the performance and reliability of advanced structures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Structural Design and Analysis:
- Design and analyze composite structural components and assemblies to meet performance requirements.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using tools such as ABAQUS CAE or ANSYS Mechanical.
- Assess structural integrity under various static, dynamic, and environmental loading conditions.
2. Composite Material Characterization:
- Conduct experiments to extract material properties and create accurate models for simulations.
- Develop material data for advanced simulations, including strength, stiffness, and failure criteria.
3. Composite Layup Design and Validation:
- Design composite layup architectures optimized for strength, weight, and manufacturability.
- Validate composite designs through rigorous physical testing and correlation with simulation results.
4. Documentation and Process Development:
- Prepare detailed technical reports on analysis, experiments, and design validation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to refine processes for manufacturing and structural optimization.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience & Skills:
- 2 to 3 years of experience in structural analysis, composite materials, or similar fields (preferred).
- Proficiency in design tools such as SolidWorks & Catia.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as ABAQUS CAE.
- Strong understanding of composite material behavior and structural design principles.
Technical Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with finite element analysis (FEA) for composite systems.
- Familiarity with material testing methods and composite layup architecture & related techniques.
