The Project Manager oversees all aspects of construction projects, from estimating and planning to execution and closeout. You will oversee project teams to ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met. An ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience managing commercial and industrial construction projects.
Accountabilities:
- Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules using tools like Primavera P6
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for labor, materials, and equipment
- Manage relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Monitor project progress and costs to identify and resolve issues
- Implement quality control standards and safety procedures
- Coordinate permitting, inspections, and other regulatory requirements
- Manage change orders and ensure accurate project documentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a construction project management role
- Expert knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and regulation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Projects, Excel, Word, and other PM software
- Excellent communication, management, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
Primary Job Duties:
Schedule Management: Oversee all project scheduling activities, including analyzing customer schedules, creating and updating baseline schedules, generating 4-week look ahead schedules, and escalating schedule issues
Finance Management: Track project budget and costs using tools like Traculator. Generate a schedule of values for billing, estimate work in progress, and ensure invoices are approved accurately.
Internal Planning: Facilitate project kickoff and detailed planning meetings. Communicate the scope of work and schedules to design, shop, and field teams. Strategize installation plans and sequences. Visit the site weekly when work is in progress.
Customer Management: Attend meetings, correspond promptly, document changes, sequence work collaboratively, estimate change orders, and represent the company at meetings.
Subcontractor Management: Schedule and manage meetings, correspond regularly, and ensure proper subcontracts are in place.
Guide: Coach teams on industry best practices and project management. Promote health, safety, and environmental protection.
Report: Generate monthly project updates on schedule, hours, and margin. Facilitate lessons learned meetings.
Physical Demands: Occasionally work at heights, and move safely through construction sites.
Travel: Local travel may be required.
