N.E.M.T Driver
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and experienced N.E.M.T Driver to join our transportation team. The N.E.M.T Driver will be responsible for transporting individuals with special medical needs to and from medical appointments and other necessary destinations. As an N.E.M.T Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of our passengers.
LOCATIONS IN IOWA WE ARE HIRING:
1.primarily:
>Davenport/nearby area.
>Keokuk/ Lee county area
2.secondairly: (these areas are subject to change)
>council bluffs
>mount pleasant
Responsibilities:
- Transport individuals with special medical needs to and from medical appointments, hospitals, and other necessary destinations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of passengers during transportation.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
- Follow all traffic and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger information.(which is automatically done if your completing your trips in reeltime via the apps we will provide you with)
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, medical personnel, and dispatchers.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience in transportation, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed .(if needed)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License
- Clean criminal background check and drug screening.
- Good physical stamina and ability to sit for long periods.
- Knowledge of local roads and routes.
- Ability to navigate using GPS and other navigation systems.
- Ability to operate and manage your assigned trips via the apps and keep accurate record of your time though a time clock app we use for payroll
THINGS TO NOTE:
1. We pay weekly and you will recieve a 1099 tax form at the begining of the year NOT A W-2
2. Wheelchair van drivers make $16 /hr
regular transport a.k.a (AMB) is $15 /hr.
3. Drivers are hired from the areas we need drivers and they are assigned a vehicle and keep it with them all the time at their home. (no commute)
-As well as assigned a fleet gas card for maintainance and fuel.
4. all vehiclles are equipped with GPS fleet tracking and on board cameras that observ the cab and out the front windsheild.
5. vehicles and equippment are for company use only.
