Summary/Objective
We are seeking a creative and driven Sr. Graphic Designer who has the desire and skills to move into a Creative Director role or a newly promoted Creative Director. This individual is responsible for overseeing the company brand across all channels as well as being the lead designer with the capabilities of producing all of the advertisements, catalogs, website images and other marketing materials as needed. Duties include working with the CMO on idea generation, developing the creative strategy for the brand and leading a team of graphic designers, writers, and other creative professionals to complete projects on time and within budget.
Essential Functions
1. Collaborate with our team of graphic designers, copywriters, and photographers and oversee or execute the design and production of digital and print advertisements, direct mail, catalogs (4-6 per year), retail signage and other marketing initiatives.
2. Efficiently manage the production of our product image assets in Photoshop (25-50 items with 3-4 photos each, per week) and ensure they best represent the item in color and scale. Oversee the image enhancement partner agency.
3. Oversee all the company's branded materials to ensure they fall within our brand standards including store signage, sales support materials and more.
4. Work with curator on design of in-house exhibition marketing materials including logo, color scheme, signage and marketing materials.
5. Lead multiple project timelines and teams at once and ensure collaboration and timely throughput.
6. Manage outside printers and implement cost reducing options when ordering printed materials.
7. Continually assess the competitive landscape to ensure our creative remains fresh, effective and on par.
8. Keep abreast of design technology and software advances (particularly on the digital side) and ensure other designers are updated and properly trained on a regular basis.
Experience/Training/Education
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in design, art or related field
• 7+ years of creative design/art design and design production experience
• Proven experience (with examples of recent work) as a senior level graphic designer, art director or creative director or in a similar creative role
• Experience managing 2-3 direct reports (graphic designers)
• Expert level knowledge of the latest versions of Photoshop and InDesign
Preferred
• Expertise in catalog design print production. Samples of past catalogs or annual reports designed requested.
• Experience in creating digital ads (.gifs and static)
• Experience overseeing the production of short video ads (social, branding)
• Experience with Salesforce and collaboration tools such as Quip and Smartsheets.

Principal Interactions
Internal:
• The CEO – This position regularly interacts directly with the ownership and CEO of the gallery.
• Executive team members – this position is responsible for working on projects with members of the Executive team.
• Representatives from all departments - This position works closely with members from all departments to discuss marketing needs.
• Indirect Reports – This position works closely with all members of the marketing team to ensure completion of projects and effective performance of the team.
External:
• Vendors in person, by phone, or email as need to coordinate services.

Work Environment
This is a sedentary office position with employees working in a controlled office environment. The employee answers telephone calls and occasionally bends, reaches, and pushes and pulls file drawers to file records and reports. Moves within the building to collect, deliver, and copy documents. The position uses a computer terminal to access input and retrieve data. Finger dexterity is required to operate computer keyboard and calculator.
Physical Demands
The following are needed to perform the essential functions of the position which include but are not limited to:
• Ability to occasionally walk.
• Ability to occasionally bend and stoop.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
• Ability to read documents for general understanding (correspondence/memos).
• Ability to read documents for analytical purposes, reading for high degree of accuracy (contracts/technical reports).
• Ability to view video display terminals (VTD) for extended periods of time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. There may be a need for occasional evening and Saturday work.
Travel
There is no travel required for this position.
